Best day EVER!I drove over from kapiti to do this workshop. Honestly, if you are further away, its worth the trip!Shea was an amazing teacher. I wasn't terribly confident that my body could handle the hammering of the steel. He was really gentle and supportive with me and my friend. He helped just enough to make the end result awesome, but not so much that i felt like I hadn't made my piece myself.We learnt all sorts of new skills and were both very happy with the results.There is the creative freedom to make something unique if you wish.They have tiny little forges that somehow made the process less intimidating. I came away with a very cool wand. I will be back for another workshop soon..... a knife or the wood wands.... such decisions!Parking is easy.Stackhouse knives is a real asset to Wellington. This is exactly the type of kiwi experience we need to support!All in all a very empowering experience.

We had such a great day making knives under Solo’s expert tutelage. Clear instructions and plenty of help made the course super accessible for complete beginners - we could not be happier with our knives!Cannot recommend this course enough, it makes for an incredible gift, and a fun day spent learning something new.

I did frypan making with Solo, so much fun. Solo was incredibly helpful, skilful and knowledgeable. And my fry pan is seriously amazing.

Super fun time making a chefs knife, friendly, encouraging and loads of knowledge and experience. I'd recommend to anyone.

The knife making g course is fantastic, a full day of fun and an amazing experience. Solomon is a great teacher, very patient and knowledgeable. The small class size means you get a lot of one on one help, but are also given freedom to work at your own pace.I chose Solomon mainly because I knew I'd be doing actual forging, not just cuttt6ashape out of a blank pice of steel.My knife is something I will treasure dearly.

What a fantastic day at the Forge, here is a picture of a spark that flew my way, while making my knife, to the correct dimensions, it was just the perfect day. We did the knife making course last night. It was awesome!! Shea was an awesome instructor, with a contagious passion for his craft. He stayed after the course just to share a lot more knowledge and show us some of the amazing knives he’s been doing. I totally recommend this place and this course!

Learning to make a knife with Solo was a truly wonderful and unique experience.I have taken various craft classes in the past but found myself disappointed with the simplified cookie cutter nature of them. This was not the case with Solo’s class. Under his expert tutelage, we were guided through each step - from forging our own blades from scratch to finishing it off with a custom wooden handle.The end result was a knife I’m proud of and will treasure for a long time.I absolutely recommend his classes - whether for yourself or as a gift - it’s an experience you won’t forget.Thank you again for an amazing day!

10/10 Had an awesome day with Solomon, great teacher who went through everything step by step starting with forging a flat blade from a cylinder bit of metal! Lunch provided was also a great highlight.
