Centennial Lookout
Gorgeous lookout within a very short walk from the Mount Victoria lookout if you’re already up there, otherwise the walk from the base of the hill is very doable within half an hour at the most. Beautiful views of the whole harbour, all the way out to Petone on a nice day. There’s seating with prime spots to both watch the sun rise as well as set.

Nice short walk (less than an hour, 1h30 estimated by the DOC) that leads you on the summit. Awesome 360 view!

French Pass Lookout
The best way to see the currents flowing through the sounds. The track is about 10-15 min and it is a bit rough in places. Carpark holds about 3 cars. Worth a look

French Pass Lookout
I have only ever been here for 1 thing, several times lol. The fishing here from land is spectacular. If you are not afraid of a gravel rd this place is a very worthy side trip, you certainly wont be unhappy with the scenery. If you camp then you may be lucky and get a visit by the local Weka. [small kiwi like birds] but def not shy, they will try and steal anything thats not tied down, like a boot or sandal, lol.

This spot is just a 10-min detour on the road from New Plymouth to Whanganui. Absolutely stunning, highly recommend for a different view of the mountain.

On a clear day you can see a long way, but there are some trees growing now that obscure some views these days.
