I found the organisation of my lessons shambolic, with poor attention to communication, which was stressful for me. Having said that, when my lessons finally started, the teacher was very good. I wasn't part of a class - I took private lessons. I think if you wanted to be part of a class you will find the organisation is better.

The Alliance Francaise Hamilton has an amazing facility with all kinds of activities. For example, language classes for adults and children, a DELF/DALF exam centre, a French language book and DVD libraries, free French movie nights for members and regular cultural events and activities like Petanque, celebration of the Galettes des Roi and La Chandeleur and many opportunities to taste French foods and hang out and speak French. It's a great place for people who are learning French and for native French speakers to be able to mix and spend time in a French environment.

The French teacher was excellent, but unfortunately, the management of the school left much to be desired. On several occasions, classes were either canceled or delayed without any prior notification. It was frustrating to arrive at the classroom, only to find out that the class had been canceled without any notice. To make matters worse, the final session of the class was canceled, and the management suggested that I attend the first session of the same level in the next term. This did not make sense to me, as it would be a waste of both time and money. When I requested to attend the first session of the next level instead, my request was denied, which was disappointing.Overall, due to poor management, I would not recommend this school to others. Despite having a great French teacher, the lack of organization and communication made it difficult to fully enjoy the learning experience.

I've been going to classes at the Alliance Francaise on and off since 2006. It's great to be able to practice my French with native speakers and learn about French life and culture. They also have an excellent selection of books, magazines and DVDs to borrow, and host a wide variety of events (quizzes, talks, musical performances etc), often accompanied by delicious French food and wine!

Agree with the previous comment, terrible customer service on the phone! The guy was extremely rude and unhelpful. He just basically tell me to find out my inquiry answers be myself.
