The museum itself is great, but there is also a great cafe to stop at. We were traveling from Palmerston North through to Hamilton so the stop was ideal for the kids to get out and explore on a wet day. The kids loved the interactive part, dress ups and playing in the bunker.

Not what it use to be! It has been reduced to basically a tattoo parlor. You can get a chat from the owner if you plan ahead. While there if your impressed get a tattoo too.

Well spent money. Really nicely made museum with interesting facts. The kids playing area was a bonus and we had so much fun there.Family pass cost $35 which we feel was pretty cheap compared to other museums. You can't sit or jump in any placed vehicles but it was cool to watch. We will definitely come again.

This was a great place to visit. It had a bit of something for all the family. The kids enjoyed the activities that were available and particularly enjoyed dressing up in the Kids HQ. We even saw some adult having a got too. It bought to life all that our Soliders and service animals past and present do. This place has a strong Mana about it. We highly recommend stopping at The Mess cafe on your way out with good food and friendly staff.

Not exactly a museum. It's a small room crammed with stuff off of a tattoo studio

The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is New Zealand's national museum, located in Wellington. Interesting and beautiful art, but as a museum, it's poorly kept. It's a small room crammed with stuff off of a tattoo studio. Obviously in need of support from the owner.

Disappointing. I would not call this a tattoo museum. It is an add on to a tattooists rooms. Some interesting info but very small. To ser a museum go to Te Papa

Excellent Museum, you could play with old dial phone, vacuum transport token, spring transport token system. You could touch and play with the display item.Don't miss the life experience of Nikola Tesla's Tesla Coil. It's amazing.A nice place to spend 2-3 hours. The Museum is running by a group of volunteers, no support from Council or government.
