Son really didn't want to go to a museum. He came out saying it was much better than expected. Quite a few things to engage the kids which really helped.

MOTAT Museum of Transport and Technology
Great place for the whole family to visit! It has informative exhibits and interactive displays for kids. There's a tram ride that connects the two sites and the ride is quite a treat! A cafe is conveniently located in the middle of the main site, perfect for a quick bite and a cup of coffee.

We almost didn't go in because it look so un attractive from outside. We are quite suprised to find a very good collection of the past. Some of them still work. Too bad it was not look after well, probably because it doesn't generate enough money n the kind volunteers were doing it. I recon the Taranaki govt should support this place with their rate pay n make it a destinations for people to go. Really enjoy the whole experience otherwise.

Fantastic place, 3 kids with us and all had a wonderful time. A lovely gentleman followed us round who was volunteering there, he showed us lots of extra little things and the boys loved him! Definitely recommend this place for a rainy Sunday morning with kids

as a history nerd although small it was nice if u ride a tram u can get to the aviation branch which is where it's at so many cool things to see that can represent human progress
