Cow Stream Natural Hot Springs
This is so disappointing that this has now been plastered on Google.For so many years this beautiful spot has remained some what of a local secret spot that can be enjoyed peacefully without the hoards.Now the already fragile pools will get hammered and no doubt damaged.Not everything needs to be placed on the Web, This is how so many longtime quite peaceful places / things suddenly get overrun by people, vehicles etc and end up getting damaged and even destroyed.You managed to locate it and enjoy it in relative peace and quite. Wait till next time you go after putting this up. Bet you regret it then.

Lovely place to stay, great location but feels out of the way. The rooms are clean, nice linen and comfortable beds. The private thermal pool is amazing and very private.

Morere Hot Springs
This is based on the entry to the bottom pools only and not the private pools. The heated pool is nice but would be too small on a busy day. The changing rooms seem decades old. The toddlers pool is flaking paint which isn’t ideal. Overall it was an average experience. (If people rate this 5 star they clearly haven’t visited Hanmer Springs). The walks are really good though and recommend the Nikau track.

Butcher's Pool
A beautiful free pool for all the family though not for unsupervised toddlers as too deep.It is a pumice based spring with hot and warm mineral waters rising through from the ground. So pick the spot with temperature that best suits you.A toilet and covered change rooms are there also.Google shows where to find it however the road off settlers road is not sign posted it looks like a farmers track untill you go over the rise on it and see the pool and car park.Rest for a family picnic you must bring all you need water food togs ect no showers available.

Loved our stay! Nice romantic room, small but cosy...Having out own thermal bath in a little courtyard joined to our room, through a door at the back, was amazing! Would love to go back tomorrow!!! The host was lovely, nert, very friendly and accommodating! ❤️

The Spa at Hanmer Springs
I had a facial and was really looking to a relaxing experience. It was mediocre at best. unconfident hands with a very light touch. It was noisy, sounded like the dishes were being done in the background. Makeup wipes rinsed and reused so my face did not feel clean. Don't think I would recommend

Amethyst Hot Springs
Good spot. Leave your togs in the car (no one else about) but bring your sandfly repellent. It’s like a treasure hunt to find but there are clues and markings. Scenic, secluded, hot.

Excellent stop on the road, nice and secluded. Follow the 4WD track to the stream. Cross the stream and follow the rock piles down the left bank, climbing over rocks. The rock piles lead to a small track marked by pink ribbon and this leads down to the pools. Some pools are very hot and be sure to mix the water before entering

What a fab spot. We loved our walk up through the nikau grove and the top pools were lovely and warm on a cloudy day, and soo relaxing. We then ambled the short route back to the large pool, practicing native tree and shrub names on the way. The set up is simple, but clean. Super friendly staff at the entrance, too. Highly recommended.

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools
Definitely need to buy the tickets in advance if you visit during the public holidays. Bought the twice entry tickets on the first night when we arrived. Highly recommend to come after 5pm so the pool is not packed. At the entrance, even I had the ticket already, still wait for around 6-7mins while the other side, people wait longer to buy the tickets. If you already wait at the entrance, you probably won’t get the locker as it maybe sold out. Kids pool is the most popular one, the temperature is good for the cold day.
