This place has everything you'll ever need. I love it. Friendly staff. Beautiful facilities. Inductions are super quick. There are many various climbs and the grading is super simple. This place is number 1!

Setting is pretty hit or miss, too many dynos and reachy moves, sucks for shorter climbers. Go Northern Rocks if you prefer powerful, static climbing. The gym upstairs is pretty decked out so that's cool.

Such a cool wee spot to climb and have a good ol’ natter. Josh and Sinervä are very knowledgeable and welcoming. So too are the regulars at the gym. All ages and disabilities are catered for, both in skill level and facilities.

Uprising
Small space called Bloclands for the kids. Slides are cool but figure the area can get crowded pretty easily with only a few kids. Great place to get kids used to bouldering. Nearby Cafe serves pizza and coffee.

Extreme Edge Rock Climbing
Extreme Edge Rock Climbing was excellent fun and challenging. It had been 3+ years since our last try (only 2nd time) and we had been looking forward to doing it again. The great team led us through a refresher on belaying and we were set free. I started on and easy climb and took turns with my wife doing the belaying. No one got dropped, so the refresher worked! It was a great time and their facilities and staff are excellent. Recommended.

The employees at Extreme Egde are very rude, and not enthusiastic at all. I really don’t recommend going because of the staff. They’re super unhappy, might as well quite your job. Went a week ago.

Basecamp Wanaka Climbing Centre
My kids ( 5 and 8 years old) and husband had an amazing time here, booked for 1 hr ended up being there for 2 hrs. I wasn't sure if my 5 year old was big enough to do it but he climbed very well and loved it!I can't remember the 2 ladies names that were there (2nd Jan-afternoon) but they were fantastic and even gave my family a taster of the harder climbing walls.Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely come back!
