Lake Ferry Holiday Park
It is in a lovely setting and is fantastic for fishing from. A nice quiet little spot with nice people, but only 3 stars because it could really do with being a little less basic - absolutely nothing in the kitchen bar the fridge, toaster, cooker & kettle type equipment, which was really unusual. At the very least it needs a bin in the kitchen! It was clean tho! Cheap and cheerful. Lovely sunset over Lake.

Pakiri Beach Holiday Park
We had a great weekend here in a lovely little cabin. A nice room, perfect location right next to the white sanded beach. The staff were friendly and made an effort to chat especially Murray and the toilets/showers and the kitchen were super clean. I highly recommend - especially for summer and especially for families with children.

Papa Aroha Holiday Park
Arrived very late, owners kind enough to wait for us and payment to be sorted the next day. Stayed there two nights. Took our own kayak, so kids had fun exploring. Beautiful place just a few info to know before booking, if you book a cabin be sure to take basic cutlery, as there wasn’t any when we arrived (tho website says they provide). Got some cutlery when asked the Lady at reception next day however we were asked when we checked out if we paid for the use of the cutlery, anyway cabin was clean. Also fyi if booking cabin, there is no water tap just a sink. Common areas the kitchen were also clean, bathroom too are very clean, just a bit of a mission when taking small children as toilet are in separate building from shower. Perfect summer getaway but will take tent next time

Pakiri Beach Holiday Park
It was a bit pricey and lacking a few basics in the communal kitchen and bathrooms like washing up liquid and paper towels. The herb garden was a lovely thought.

Lake Waihola Holiday Park
Very well maintained and spacious. Facilities all accessible. Perfect if you want a peaceful break. Very nice if you can get a space bordering the lake edge. Rob the groundsmen is super friendly - he'll let you know the best spots around to go to if you're planning a scenic trip. Really enjoyed our time here. Very cost efficient also.

Lake Ferry Holiday Park
We stayed there in a cabin after cancelling our camping plans due to really bad weather. The lady was very friendly. The first cabin she gave us had a broken window, so she let us stay in another one. It was really warm and had a nice little kitchen. It had no double bed though only bunk beds. Communal bathrooms were ok. Nice setting by the lake and by the sea at the same time! Also close to Cape Palliser and the Putangirua Pinnacles. Not many people go there but it is a nice little place off the beaten path. We had a good shelter from the wind and rain and were glad we weren't in a tent. $70 a cabin with bunk beds and no bedding.

Cosy Cottage Thermal Holiday Park
Quaint little park with hot spring baths. Large kitchen, hot showers, quiet yet busy. Close to the city Center, great suggestions from the hotel admin for places to visit and eat. Be mindful of lights on at night as there are crazy amounts of midges!

Houhora Heads Motor Camp
Awesome location, really popular camping ground. Would be really nice to do a bit of a tidy up. My daughter stayed and where she was placed, the grass was really long and could have been a nicer place when not so many campers around. In saying that she loved it like we used too. Very kiwi and great fishing.
