Oyster bar restaurant

Beautiful oysters and food was amazing! But just the duty manager was not very nice, they mischarged us for one more dozen oysters, the duty manager refund us but not in a nice way. Great oysters though, we enjoyed.

Nice Italian restaurant. Very busy when we were there and the staff did manage well considering. Food was delicious! Would recommend.

I’ve also had the privilege of eating at The French Cafe in Auckland, so my expectations were high.Unfortunately, the experience was a little disappointing. The food was okay, and some of the tasting menu dishes were good, but the desert was disappointing.Disappointing was the service. At one point, we had cocktails, snacks and the first course all lined up on the table at the same time before we asked the wait staff to slow down a bit, and perhaps give us time to order some wine!Even more surprising the reasonably experienced sommelier could offer no more advice than to have white wine with the first three courses and red wine with the second. Unfortunately we got to course four before we could get the attention of the wait-staff to get the red wine, that we chose ourselves.Overall, not good value for money at $690 for three people.Old reviewThis was a great restaurant in an old post office in the heart of Tauranga. The menu had a range of options from à la cart to tasting Menu. The service was very good, the place was busy and leather apron staff were high energy. Most of the dishes were accompanied by description from the executive chef which is really appreciated and the by the glass wine options were very impressive.

As usual, we ordered too much and had to finish it because everything was delicious. The cold meats platter had good variety and was paired perfectly with some pickles; the charred octopus had a smokey flavour, which was balanced with basil leaves; the seafood pasta was also quite good, but the beef tartare takes the cake here - just divine! The bartender made some mean as Aperol Spritz. Yum!

Pizza and pasta were really delicious!!Service was also good. Very friendly staff :)At first, I thought that the menu were little bit expensive. But after we have done our lunch, we have changed our mind. This is great restaurant at reasonable price.This is really Italian restaurant!!

Oysters are fresh and delicious, especially the one with a bit green(mint coriander and something else), matches well with the saltwater within the oyster. The roast duck breast taco is also a delight for taste bud, worth a try and the staff is really nice, brings me a cup of hot water with two slices of lemon!

Great place for dinner! We ordered the fresh oysters (natural and nahm jim sauce), market fish crudo, Vietnamese beef tartare, bbq dark breast taco and lamb wrap! It was all pack full of flavours and freshness

Went on a Tuesday night, arrived at 8 pm, ordered 2 vegan dishes (we are both vegan). The waitress brought us the drinks order and informed us that they had ran out of these 2 vegan plates. There was only a 3rd fried vegan option left which was not suitable for us. The waitress seemed to be on a bit of a shock, the situation could have been handled better. We ended up leaving and not trying their food or drinks. We'd like to come back but I wi certainly make a reservation, and make sure that the vegan plates are still available.

We were visiting Mount Maunganui yesterday (18/02/2023) trying to get to Dixie Browns but it was so crowded on the beach that we could not get a park so we went back into town. We came across this restaurant which appealed to us immediately.My wife and I were greeted by the staff and they were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a margarita pizza (though it was called something else). Along with it, we requested garlic pizza bread, fries and two flat whites.The food was wonderfully prepared and tasted great. The quality was great and everything worked together so well and complimented one another.If we return to the area, this would be our first pick as we cannot be bothered searching high and low. Amazing job guys!

Lovely little gem hidden in plain sight. Our room is cosy and well set out. Although the bathroom door/see through window got some getting used too. It has a very old style meets oriental feel and is comfy. I would highly recommend this place to all.
