Clarence St Theatre
This is a great theatre in our community. They are able to accomodate over 500 people. They have a good sized bar, selling drinks and snacks. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The seating is not fixed, so you don’t feel trapped in cramped seats. We have been to see kids shows here, stand up comedy, and quite a few plays as well. Always feel welcome and comfortable. Parking is not too bad. I often park on the street nearby. As long as you get there early it’s not normally an issue.

Travelled from Rotorua to the theatre in pouring rain to see Chicago" today. Absolutely fabulous show - excellent dancing and singing and made to feel most welcome. Will be back ... oh and the trip home? The rain just kept coming down."

First time visit to the theatre and was pleasantly surprised. Well organized, helpful staff, seating was good with plenty of leg room. The acoustic were very good and the view of the stage was excellent. We will be looking out for other events and will be back. Thanks Clarence theatre for a great evening. Those that have not been there should certainly give it a try.

Very nice facility, if somewhat dated. Good if FNDC does take over its maintenance...costly but worth it in terms of its varied community usage options.

Covert Theatre
Just been to see an Improv show at the Covert Theater, a small well set up Theater with a great team of Improv actors who give their all to throw a great show filled with great showmanship, plenty of mischievous humor and a whole lot of laughter. They started the Thearter June 2020 at the beginning of Covid, but they like the rest of us have survived through the lockdowns. This is a charitable trust and great worth supporting.Their staff are uber friendly, it's easy to book, online or stop in and purchase your tickets, the prices are more than reasonable. Their shows are Thursday to Sunday and during the week they do classes. They have a great little bar so if you are not up for a show stop in and have a drink as they have a well stocked bar. Most of all if you are looking for a good laugh go and see a show, highly recommend going.....

This is a wonderful fun learning environment for children. My daughter really enjoyed being involved in the productions and the shows are amazing! You almost cant believe its your child singing, dancing and remembering their lines.
