Waldorf kindergarten

The Matamata New Shoots Centre is amazing. It is based on the Pikler Philosophy which so many centres are not aligned to, which is what made me choose this for my kids. The children are our future and if we can give them this type of start it is perfect for their futures. It is not only the facilities but the type of care and resources the kids are exposed to which will help them in developing into great people.

Teachers are friendly and my son loves them. No favoritism they love the kids just the same.

Booked a visit, arrived and was turned away by a very unfriendly and unwelcoming teacher. Bad first impression, not sending my kid here.

The Ward St centre and teachers are amazing. I highly recommend them. So loving and caring. They experience and grow soo much.

My son has attended Pohutukawa Kidz for about 3 months and he is thoroughly enjoying it! He comes home everyday in a very good mood and enjoys all the fun and stimulating exercises that they do with the children. The staff are so friendly and professional and they do truly build meaningful relationships with the kids. My son is very comfortable with all the staff.

This Steiner-style kindergarten is a gem. The teachers' passion and deep understanding of Steiner's philosophy created a nurturing environment for my two sons to thrive intellectually, emotionally, and creatively. My sons were happy and never said they don't want to go to the kindy.The kindergarten's focus was strongly on the community, not the business. It brought parents together through many community events.Having Oromahoe School on the other side of the road was also handy. I could drop my older son at the school and the younger son at the kindy on the same trip.I highly recommend this kindergarten to parents who want the best for their children.

We have been with New Shoots Bayfair from the very first day they opened in June 2020. I have two children attending the centre and I have been able to watch them grow and flourish from all the love and support of the teachers over the past 8 months. It’s a very well run centre as the staff are top notch. This is hands down the main reason we love this pre-school so much.Below are a few of the other things we like: (1) the decor and choice of toys and materials the children play and engage with are high quality (2) The outdoor area is open to all the kids to share. That means big kids and little kids interact and learn from each other. My youngest is often found playing with or near his big sister almost daily. (3) Full-time chef cooking healthy meals daily. This is so important as we don’t have to worry about the kids getting the right nutrition. My oldest will often talk about her trying new veggies or foods at school that day. (4) Teachers. I have mentioned this already but the teachers here are really amazing. You can just see how it reflects in all the children. The love and care they give allows the children a safe and loving place to learn and grow. My children really have flourished under their care and I am so grateful to have found this centre.
